British EnergyTech startup GenGame, is changing the relationship between you and your energy retailer.
GenGame designs mobile applications with engaging and novel features, aiming to bridge the gap between energy companies and their consumers.
“We understand people can’t make sense of their energy bill, let alone make informed decisions about energy efficiency measures or how to use energy at greener times,” says Head of Utility Projects at GenGame, Jeremy Woolley.
GenGame has been part of Startupbootcamp’s Smart Energy accelerator program and together they are working towards disrupting the smart energy marketplace, reducing carbon emissions and ultimately combating climate change.
Startupbootcamp is the world’s largest network of industry-focused accelerators, helping startups scale internationally by giving them direct access to the most relevant partners, investors and mentors in their sector.
Our mobile apps bring simplicity and transparency to energy like never before, making it easier for households to use less energy, spend less money and emit less CO2 from their home energy use,” says Woolley.
GenGame’s primary aim is to create unique propositions that strengthens the energy companies’ relationship with their customers, builds loyalty and makes them truly enjoy engaging with their utility.
Woolley believes that GenGame’s strong design-led approach to consumer engagement together with their extensive background of user experience, sets them apart from a world of ‘the usual’ energy apps.
“GenGame has the real potential to not only help people save money and better understand their bills but also improve retailers’ ability to provide a consistent, low cost and increasingly renewable electricity supply,” says Entrepreneur In Residence at Startupbootcamp, Giles Collee.
After successfully delivering simple and enjoyable applications to UK customers, GenGame was able to quickly transition to the parallel Australian market where they discovered the customer engagement level to be low and an absence of platforms in use by energy retailers.
GenGame applications were designed with the aim to benefit everyone in the energy sector.
They make it easy for customers to engage with and save on their home energy, whilst giving retailers happier, more loyal and essentially ‘zero-touch’ customers greatly reducing customer care costs.
“High competition between energy retailers in this day is forcing them to improve their customer service. Our product suite means we can help retailers here wherever they are in their transition to digital channels.”
